David Cruikshank is an Associate with ARCH, joining the company in August 2007. He will focus on semiconductors, advanced materials,
consumer electronics, and communications technologies. Mr. Cruikshank was formerly with Toshiba America Electronic Components as an engineer
and manager in Business Development and was responsible for North American audio, video, and automotive semiconductor product lines with annual
sales of $50 million. Prior to that, he was with Conexant Systems (originally Rockwell
Semiconductor) as an Industrial Engineer.
Mr. Cruikshank holds an M.B.A. with Honors from the University of Chicago, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from University of
California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated Summa Cum
Laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Alex Rives, Associate

Biotechnology Pharmaceuticals
Alex Rives joined ARCH as an Associate in November 2007. He specializes in life sciences technologies and is managing commercialization
activities for several novel therapeutics companies. Alex spends a portion of his time as an Associate with the Institute of System's
Biology's Accelerator program reviewing technologies for potential investment. He assisted with the early development of numerous start-up
companies within the Accelerator, including VLST, Spaltudaq, Allozyne, and Seredigm, where he served as Founding General Manager.
Alex is a co-founder of Apoptos, and served as founding President of Fate Therapeutics.
Alex earned a B.S. with distinction in Biology and Philosophy from Yale University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a commendation
in biotechnology, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Cindy Bayley, Ph.D., Affiliate

Cindy Bayley, Ph.D. is an affiliate of ARCH. She focuses on biotechnology businesses
and is a co-founder of several ARCH portfolio companies, including deCODE Genetics, an Icelandic pharmaceutical
company, Adolor, a pharmaceutical firm developing novel analgesics, Elixir Pharmaceuticals, an
anti-aging and metabolic disease company, and Plectix BioSystems, a computational biology company.
Dr. Bayley has worked with ARCH for over 14 years and has been instrumental in helping to source companies
like Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, and has participated in the planning and diligence for many other
companies in the portfolio.
Early in her career, she was a field engineer with Schlumberger Offshore Services. She holds a B.S.
in Physics from the University of Rochester, and a Ph.D. in Virology and an M.B.A. from the University of
Chicago.
